MSRB to Host Outreach Seminar in Austin, Texas
The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) will host an education and outreach event for professionals in the municipal market in Austin, Texas on February 15, 2011. Industry professionals – including municipal entities, investors, municipal advisors and registered broker-dealers – can attend the seminar, which will provide information about the MSRB’s expanded mission, municipal advisor rulemaking and the development of professional qualifications for municipal advisors. MSRB staff will be available at the seminar for questions and answers.

AGENDA TOPICS
I. The MSRB and Protection of the Municipal Market
This session will provide an overview of the MSRB and its expanded mission to protect municipal entities.
II. Municipal Advisor Rulemaking
This session will cover the MSRB’s rulemaking efforts with respect to municipal advisors.
III. Professional Qualifications for Municipal Advisors
This session will provide a forum to discuss the development of professional qualifications for municipal advisors.
