Update to MSRB Notice 2010-18 Regarding MSRB and RBDA Municipal Securities Regulation Seminar on September 23, 2010 in Texas

On June 25, 2010, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (“MSRB”) published a notice regarding a municipal securities regulation seminar co-hosted by the MSRB and Regional Bond Dealers Association (“RBDA”) to be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Four Seasons Hotel, 4150 North MacArthur Boulevard, Irving, Texas.

The time of the seminar has been changed to 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. CDT from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. CDT. The later start time will provide better coordination with the RBDA National Fixed Income Conference and Technology Summit, which commences at 12 Noon at the same location.

Panel discussions at the seminar will address the municipal provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act, recent MSRB rulemaking initiatives, including recent and planned changes to the Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA) system and the Short-Term Obligation Rate Transparency (SHORT) system. MSRB legal and policymaking staff, and staff from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will discuss compliance and enforcement priorities. This seminar is open to all members of the municipal securities community. There is no charge for attending; however, pre-registration is required.
