MUNICIPAL SECURITIES RULEMAKING BOARD AND SECURITIES INDUSTRY AND FINANCIAL MARKETS ASSOCIATION TO CO-HOST REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE SEMINARS
New York, Chicago Meetings Open to All Members of the Municipal Securities Community
Alexandria, VA – The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) are pleased to announce they will host two municipal securities seminars this fall covering regulatory and compliance issues. The first seminar will be held in New York on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at SIFMA’s offices, 120 Broadway, 2nd floor. A second seminar covering the same material will be held in Chicago on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hilton Suites Chicago, 198 E Delaware Place, Lakeshore Ballrooms A&B. A reception will immediately follow both meetings.
“Over the past year, significant regulatory changes have taken place in the municipal bond market and the MSRB is pleased to work with SIFMA to provide information to market participants regarding these important changes,” said MSRB Executive Director Lynnette Kelly Hotchkiss.
The seminars will provide an update on regulatory and compliance issues in the municipal securities market. Staff from the MSRB and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) will serve as panelists. A representative of the Internal Revenue Service will also participate in the Chicago seminar. The seminars are free and open to all members of the municipal securities community including professionals at municipal securities dealers, asset managers, municipal financial advisors, issuers and bond counsel.
